Turku, Finland – 12.5.2025 – Genomill is excited to announce the publication of its latest preprint detailing the Nicking Loop™ technology—a groundbreaking approach that positions circular single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) as the primary library format for next-generation sequencing (NGS). This advancement marks a significant departure from traditional linear DNA libraries, offering a simplified and versatile alternative.
Nicking Loop™ method enables non-exponential amplification of circular ssDNA, preserving the original template composition and enhancing reproducibility and sensitivity, particularly for detecting low-frequency variants. This approach is compatible with various NGS platforms, including nanopore sequencing technologies, enabling highly efficient targeted sequencing.
As part of its innovation, Nicking Loop™ introduces an indexing strategy that simplifies sample pooling early in the workflow. This addresses a well-known bottleneck in sample processing, improving scalability while minimizing the risk of cross-contamination, which is an important consideration in clinical and high-throughput settings.
