Exploring the Future of DNA Sequencing: Genomill’s Visit to Illumina Cambridge
Dr. Manu Tamminen visited Illumina's Cambridge site

Cambridge, United Kingdom – 23.3.2025 – Dr. Manu Tamminen, Co-Founder of Genomill, recently visited Illumina’s Cambridge facility in the UK to engage in discussions about the future of DNA sequencing. The meeting focused on exploring potential synergies between Genomill’s Geno1® technologies and Illumina’s sequencing platforms.
Both Genomill and Illumina are actively pursuing innovations to simplify and streamline DNA sequencing workflows by reducing or eliminating traditional library preparation steps. Genomill’s Geno1® technologies, including Bridge Capture™ and Nicking Loop™, utilize circular DNA libraries to facilitate efficient and accurate sequencing. Similarly, Illumina’s Constellation technology introduces on-flow-cell library preparation, aiming to minimize hands-on time and simplify the sequencing process. This alignment in objectives underscores the potential for synergistic advancements in next-generation sequencing.
”I had the privilege of visiting Illumina in Cambridge, UK, to explore the future of DNA sequencing. Grateful to Loubab Zedane, Richard Capper, Carrera Dionne, and the team for engaging discussions and warm hospitality,” Dr. Tamminen shared on LinkedIn.
